What is the Library Liaison Program?
It's a way of linking with our professional schools, staying in tune with their needs, providing continuity of contact, and keeping them informed. Most of the liaisons are faculty librarians, with other professional information staff for some administrative units (strive to match professional expertise/knowledge with programs).
What types of services can be provided?
- Meet with departmental faculty/staff on a regular basis (e.g., liaison can serve as member of curriculum committees, departmental meetings and/or school faculty assemblies)
- Distribute information on new services and resources
- Collect recommendations for new resources and services
- Demonstrate library resources and services
- Provide hands-on training on use of resources
- Provide customized and/or individualized instructional sessions
