By default, EndNote Libraries are initially sorted by the
first author’s last name, year, and record number. To change the default
setting:
- Open
an EndNote Library (*.enl).
- References
> Show All (to display all references in a Library)
- References
> Sort Options (Sort Options box opens)(Fig.13):
- Use the pull-down menus to prioritize the sorting by field.
- Use the icon with each field to designate ascending or descending order:
- Ascending
icon – to slope upward, left to right (A-Z, most recent first).
- Descending
icon – to slope downward, left to right (Z-A, earliest first).
- Click
Sort button.
